MeRT - Magnetic E-Resonance Therapy

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that you may have questions about MeRT since it is a relatively new technology. MeRT, or magnetic e-resonance therapy, is a more sophisticated form of TMS, or transcranial magnetic stimulation. TMS, in and of itself, has been used since 1985 to treat a variety of mental health and neurological conditions. MeRT was created and patented in the late 2000s by Wave Neuroscience, the parent company of the technology. Studies were initially done on veterans returning from combat nearly 20 years ago and treatment has been available to the general public since 2011.

The process of treatment is quite simple, but if you’re not familiar with TMS or MeRT, it can be confusing. We have created a list of FAQs to help you understand more about how it works, what it can treat, and more.
